Chess.com League Update

17 May 2020 by Reuben Salimu

A quick follow-up email on the Chess.com Clubs League – if you are receiving this email, you are one of the 115 approved clubs!

Important items:
1. Review Rules and Format
2. Review your club’s info on the list of participating clubs – divisions, admins, spelling.
3. Club admins of all clubs in the league should request to join the Clubs League group. Only club admins of confirmed clubs will be approved.
4. You can begin “recruiting” players to join your online club. Each player may only compete for one club per season. Rule C5 – “There is no requirement for being a member of the physical club to represent the club in the Clubs League. However, in the spirit of the “clubs” league, clubs which extensively recruit players who have no physical, social, or online connections to the club may be deemed ineligible.”
5. The first match is Saturday, May 23 – see the Rules and Format document for when you may schedule matches, including Friday and Sunday.
6. Club vs Club pairings will be posted on Tuesday, May 19
7. Matches will be played based on Chess.com rapid ratings – if you have concerns that your top players are “underrated,” you can recommend for them to play some practice games before next weekend’s match.
8. More information on prizes and support from Chess.com is forthcoming.

If you have questions, please email me or message me on Chess.com (GrantOen).

Thank you!
