Hello!
My name is Grant Oen, and I am the new Leagues Administrator for Chess.com.
If you are receiving this email, you are the admin of a club that has been provisionally accepted to the
Chess.com Clubs League. We are very excited to already have 128 accepted clubs from 37 countries.
Please find some preliminary information in this “Essential Information” article as well as a tentative list of participating teams, which will be updated over time. The clubs league is only open to physical “face-to-face” chess clubs that meet in person. Clubs who only have an online presence (i.e.
Chess.com club only) are not eligible for this league – if this describes your club, please send me a message.
Many have asked about the starting date – we are aiming to begin the league in under a month, but do not have a concrete start date yet. The format and other technical details will be worked on and published in that Clubs League group. Undoubtedly you may have questions at this time, however to stay informed, please refer to news articles in that club.
If you are listed as the point of contact for a club, you should be an admin or super-admin of the
Chess.com club as well as willing to undertake various roles of communication, promotion, match schedule, coordination with league management/board of directors on behalf of your club.
Admins of approved clubs should request to join this club.
If you are no longer interested in competing in the Clubs League (or are not eligible) and would like to be removed before the season starts, please let me know.
We are very excited about the new
Chess.com Clubs League. We will be in contact soon with more information, but for now, please know that your league application has been accepted!
Thank you!
Regards,
Grant
